I am a psychotherapist, forensic & family law specialist in private practice registered with the SACSSP and BHF. I am based in Pietermaritzburg for in-person sessions and offer online sessions if requested.
I provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and couples, addressing the full spectrum of mental health concerns, from anxiety, depression, and trauma to complex conditions including personality disorders, eating disorders, addiction, and suicidal ideation. Clinically, I practice predominantly psychodynamic psychotherapy, which explores the unconscious patterns, early relationships, and deeper emotional roots of current struggles. I am a member of the South African Psychoanalytic Initiative (SAPI) and maintain ongoing advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I also practice from an evidence-based cognitive-behavioural perspective (Beck Institute), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, offering practical tools to manage symptoms and develop healthier coping strategies. All therapy sessions are strictly confidential, providing a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for meaningful change.
In my forensic practice, I provide child-centered, trauma-informed assessments and investigations within family law contexts. This specialised work includes care and contact investigations (custody), parenting plan assessments, forensic investigations into allegations of abuse, and supervised visitation.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself or a loved one, or require forensic expertise in family law matters, I'm here to help. I approach every person with respect, empathy, and genuine care for you and your family's well-being.
